John Longworth was elected an MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber at the 2019 European election and sat with the Brexit Party until December 2019 and formally joined the Conservatives in January 2020. He was formerly Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce and Chairman of the Vote Leave Business Council and is now on the Advisory Boards of Economists for Free Trade and the IEA.
