David Heathcoat-Amory was Conservative MP for Wells between 1983 and 2010, serving in John Major’s Government as a Whip, Europe Minister and then Paymaster General, a post from which he resigned in protest at the prospect of the UK joining the Eurozone. He was Chairman of the ERG and served as the Conservative Parliamentary Delegate to the Convention on the Future of Europe. HeĀ is a patron of the Red Cell.
